It’s later than you think.
She’s braver than she knows.
It looks like a standard female cop thriller, but stick with it. It gets darker. There must be more, please. No spoilers. Just read it.
*****
It inspired me to open up the sequel draft (shelved while I was working on other things) and generated a surge of affection for DI Julie Cadell, recovering in hospital at the end of Losing Control. She has a lot of work to do, and she needs to get on with it.
If you want to encourage us, me and my protagonist, there’s a special online offer (£0.99/$£0.99) running from Friday July 3rd 2026 for one week.
Even better, Losing Control is also available in beautiful physical form from all good bookshops – including the Book Corner in Saltburn, Drake in Stockton-on-Tees (and don’t forget to visit the new Riverside Park! as well) and Forum Books in Corbridge (also The Accidental Bookshop in Alnwick and the bound Whitley Bay)

What connects Teesside, England and Bhopal, India
A dead body?
A multinational chemical company?
An outsourced IT desk?
A tragic anniversary?
Can DI Julie Cadell find the link before cyber-vengeance brings terror to Teesside?
And for those who love audiobooks (I do!) I also recommend the fabulous audio recording, narrated by Melanie Crawley and Mike Hayley
