Coming soon – new editions of the Jaq Silver Adventures

Posted on July 3, 2025 in Jaq Silver, Path to publication, Self-publishing

I wrote last week about getting the rights back to the four Jaq Silver thrillers, and my mixed emotions about leaving my first traditional publisher.

Now it’s full steam ahead.

Thanks to the wonderful Mark Swan at kid-ethic, new placeholder covers are ready – tick!

New unique identification numbers (International Standard Book Number (ISBN)) have been purchased from Neilsen – tick!

Work is progressing on typesetting the four manuscripts, using the excellent free tool on Reedsy

My wonderful agent Juliet Mushens negotiated extensions to my early contracts with WF Howes, so the original editions of all six audio-books continue to be available (outside US and Canada at least).

The old Oneworld/Point Blank hardback and paperback editions will continue to be available from all good bookshops while my old publisher sells off any remaining physical stock.

In the very short term, the only e-book edition available online (but now on Kindle Unlimited too) is the US English edition of The Chemical Detective.

Normal service will be resumed just as fast as I can type…

Sunny southern sojourn with friends and family and a stonkingly good book. London looking stunning!

In Houston for the day job, I went back to visit my old house and primary school from when my dad had a sabbatical at Rice University. Fleming park is much smaller than I remember but the fire ants are still there! Highlight was a full Tex-Mex with Theresa and Bhopal expert Kenneth Bloch - plans afoot for a new book.

I swam 24km in 5 days. Hard work?

Try tuna canning, salt drying or sulphur mining...
